Anti-smoking laws

There has never been a time more than now that I have been so glad to live in Iowa. I have been in Chicago, Seattle, and Orcas Island over the last two weeks, and have seen what stupid liberals who can't find an important issue to fuck with can do. They just prove to the world that they are the most inconsiderate little bastards to ever wander God's green earth.
Last night I was in a little bowling alley/bar and then a little diner on Irving Park in Chicago. At the diner there were maybe 3 or 4 people there, all smoking cigarettes, and same with the bowling alley. Sitting there, I couldn't stop thinking "They're banning smoking here. This is ridiculous."
Those fucking liberals never thought about that. They never thought that this would apply to the bars and resteraunts that they would never go to. When they passed this shit they were thinking about Bar Louie and Excallibur, they weren't thinking about Diner/Grill (dead seriously, the Diner's name). But if you pointed that out to them, they wouldn't give a shit.

Keep in mind, just because I point out that liberals do something, that doesn't mean conservatives don't.

Liberals just can't grasp the idea that people can disagree with them, it's simply lost on them. I've met people who honestly won't respect my religious views. Back when I supported the war (back when it could've gone well), I mentioned I was pro-war to someone, and got the response "Are you sick?" etc. you get the point.
The point is that those people are dickheads. There is a common sense line between holding a different opinion or make a different life choice and being an idiot, and liberals simply can't grasp that. They think "Smoking's bad, and I don't like being around it, so we should ban it", as opposed to thinking "Smoking's bad, and I don't like being around it, so I'll frequent a bar that doesn't allow it, thus making it profitable to voluntarily ban smoking in bars."

I heard a good solution to this problem though, but, of course, the liberals are far too concieted to let this shit go.

In Ireland they banned smoking in bars a while ago. What the bars there did was create outside smoking areas that protect you from the weather (canopies, space heaters, fans, etc.) where you can take your drink and have a cigarette. This I have no problem with. I think it's a reasonable thing to request that we don't smoke around you. It is NOT reasonable to be a dick about it (like in Washington they have aspects to the smoking ban that makes it so you CAN'T stand under the canopies, cause they're all too close to the entrance).

There's a deeper problem though. I realized this while talking to my mom about smoking bans, and eventually we got to the discussion about me tossing my cigarette butts on the ground. I told her that it wouldn't happen so much if we were provided with regular ashtrays to put our cigarette butts in, to which my mom responded "Why should we provide you with ashtrays?" This is where I lost my mind.
"WE? WE? Are you forgetting that I pay taxes too? Are you forgetting that, because of your stupid laws you get far more use out of the public buildings that we can't be in for more than an hour or two at a time, despite the fact that WE pay for at LEAST a quarter of the fucking thing? We are fucking citizens and fucking tax payers too! You're not some benevolent force that allows us to fucking smoke, you're a majority that obviously is so fucking self absorbed that you actually think you're saving the minority from itself, and that's it. You're a bunch of whining children who need governmental recognition that you've made the right life choice, and simply won't leave us alone until we don't inconvinience you in slightest (regardless of how much you fucking inconvinience us!)"
Don't worry, that's how my mom and I speak to each other about politics.
The point is there. They don't consider us equals. They consider the rights of a smoker to be a laughable concept. I remember on the daily show they were mocking a guy for standing up for smokers' rights (the guy was a douchebag, so the sketch was funny, but nevertheless). If you're one of these people, I'd seriously reccomend you check your conscience and stop being such an inconsiderate prick.

I don't smoke and really don't like the smell of smoke. That being said....it shouldn't be legislation just b/c I don't like it. I don't like nasty people who think they need to bathe themselves in raunchy perfume either. To me, the perfume clouds are more noxious than the smoking, but there shouldn't be legislation about perfume use either.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people n groups.
